Jimmie Burgess “J.B.” Arnold, 89, of Hopedale, died Friday, July 10, at Gables Care Center, Hopedale. He was born January 4, 1926 in Fairview, Ohio, a son of the late Ray Bevin and Elsie Frances Baker Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ.  He was the retired owner and operator of J.B Arnold Trucking, where he hauled coal for Consolidation Coal Co. He was a member of the Hopedale American Legion.  He was a member and former Master of the Hendrysburg Masonic Lodge; the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge; and the Aladdin Shrine in Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Jean; a son Jimmie Ray (J.R.) Arnold in 2011; and two brothers, Paul Richard and Jerry Arnold.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Norma Aukerman Arnold; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Arnold of Flushing; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Arnold (and niece, Susan) of Martins Ferry and Wanda Arnold (nephews, Richard Allen and Larry David) of Magnolia, Ohio; and dear friends Alan and Kerry Ann Lazear of Hopedale.

Friends may call Monday, 2-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating.
