Margaret V. “Sue” Smith, age 70, of Hopedale died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 12, in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville after a brief illness.
Born November 25, 1944 in Cadiz Twp., Harrison County she was a daughter of the late Casey Millenger and Mary Stull Hennis. She had been a member of the Hopedale VFD for over 15 years and is currently an honorary member. She enjoyed square dancing and met John P. Smith at Moorefield Community Square Dance. They married Aug. 25, 1989 and continued their love of square dancing to this day. She helped John with the farm and was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed baking cookies and breads but what she enjoyed most was making fudge, with John’s help, for all of their family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 26 years John Smith; children Robert (Cindy) Arnold of Wintersville and Edward (Anna) Arnold, Mary Arnold and Margie (Eric) Wilson all of Hopedale; the light of her life, grandson JP Wilson; great grandchildren Brad, Tyler and Dillon Zamski and Kylie Ferguson; brothers Jim Hennis of Jewett, Bill Hennis of Texas and Danny Hennis of Arkansas and she loved her daughters dog Thomas.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. www.kochfuneral.com
