Richard A. Huffman, 74, of New Athens, died Saturday Oct. 3, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born March 13, 1941 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late Clarence and Minerva Huffman.
He was employed at the former Y&O Coal Company and then drove truck for U.S. Express. He was a member of the House of the Shepherd, the UMWA, New Athens V.F.D. and was a trustee at the Franklin Museum.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parent by a brother, Ronald Dean Huffman and a sister, Viola Huffman.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (McKee) Huffman of New Athens; a son, Robert (Gina) Huffman of Cadiz; two daughters: Angela (Joey) Howiler of Somerton, Ohio and Jody Norris of Bethesda; stepchildren: Tami Crane of Pittsburgh, Tommy Crane of Bellaire and Lisa (Dean) Frizzi of Bellaire; 10 grandchildren and one on the way and five great grandkids; a sister, Donna (James) Runevitch of Harrisville; a sister-in-law, Carol Huffman of New Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pete Tuchek officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio
