Veryle “Paul” Carter passed away peacefully on Sept.19, at the Wickliffe Country Place in Wickliffe, Ohio.

Born Dec. 8, 1937 in Hopedale, Ohio, Paul was the son of Martha Jane Christian and Joseph Melville Carter. He is survived by his seven children: Lisa (Ernest) Cunningham of East Springfield; Veryle “Paul” (Cheryl) Carter, Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls; Mary Jane (Robert Miller) Carter-Wright of Parma; Hans Carter of Cadiz, Michael (Nelle) Carter of Leesville, LA; Tamara Bell of Columbus; Terrence Carter of Leesville, La. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Bryan) Vickers, Stacie (Lonyell) Thomas, Kristin (Michael) Deland, Brandon (Paulynn) Carter, Michael Carter, Mareo Bell and Matthew Bell, Tre Rudy, Mary Carter, Veryle “Trip” Carter, III, Marrion Carter, Terrence Carter, Jr. and nine great-grandchildren.

He is survived by siblings Joseph Melville (Caroline) Carter, Jr, Kay Whitfield both of Columbus and preceded in death by Jim Carter, Madonna Jeffries and Beverly Jean Jones. His aunt Wanda Byers of Smithfield is the oldest living relative.

Paul served the U.S Army and worked for Y&O coal company. He resided in Akron, Ohio most of his life as a truck driver for Lawsons/Dairy Mart. His stories, laughter and love will be greatly missed.

Burial services will take place on Oct. 10, at Greenwood Cemetery in Hopedale, a memorial service will be held on Oct.17, in Columbus, Ohio.
