William Paul Hawley, 89, passed away Oct. 27. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, graduating from Hudson High School in 1944. Bill resided in Freeport for the past 22 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.

He was self-employed as a mason/plasterer, before working for Flint-Kote and S.K. Wellman. Bill was a member of Coventry Lodge 665 F&AM and a life-time member of the American Legion Lee-Bishop Post 464. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester and James; he is survived by his daughters, Susan (Eric) Davis of Lee’s Summit, MO and Alison (Jim) Zwald of Jackson Township; grandchildren, Amelia and Katie Zwald, Erin and Taylor Davis; sisters, Anna Roose and Marjorie (Wilford) Lantz.

Friends may call one hour prior to an 11 a.m. memorial service on Friday Oct. 30, in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 44221. Inurnment Oakwood Cemetery.
