Donald Lenford Fields, Sr. age 75, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Freeport and Akron, died surrounded by his family at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, Ohio after a long illness.

Born North Kenova, Ohio on March 25, 1940, he was a son of the late Charles Fields and Anna Stewart Fields Geib.

Donald was a self-employed roofer in Akron for thirty years, then moved to this area in 1989 and worked for Salt Fork Stables (Chester Gray) and Best Construction in Center for thirteen years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Juanita May Cunningham Fields. They were married June 7, 1980.

Also surviving are six children: Don Fields, Jr. of Logan, Linda (Bill) McIntyre of Akron, William (Julie) Fields of Akron, Charles Fields of Akron, Tammie (Warren) Noland of Akron, James Fields of Moorefield; two step-children: Charlene Sue Bates of Minerva and Debra Ann Watson of Canton; nine grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Janet Elaine Fields, a step-daughter, Tina Lee Ciarrochi, sister Ann Baird and two brothers: Homer Fields and Charles Edward Fields.

Services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in Koch Funeral Home, 216 South High Street, Freeport with Rev. Erik Cremeans officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service (4 to 6 p.m.) in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
