Virginia Anna Armstrong Beiber, age 72, of rural Annapolis passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, in Trinity Medical Center West surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 9, 1943 in Dennison she was the daughter of the late Edwin W. Armstrong and Vula McCullough Armstrong. She graduated from Scio High School in 1961, earned her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and her master’s degree from the University of Dayton. She was an elementary teacher for Harrison Hills City School District for 41 years retiring in 2012. She loved teaching so much that after she retired she continued as a substitute teacher at Harrison North.
She was a member of the Hanover Methodist Church and the retired Teachers of Harrison County. She was a life member of the Retired Teachers of Ohio, OEA-R and NEA-R. She was also a fifty-year member of the Arbutus OES Chapter in Gnadenhutten. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, genealogy but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her son Robert E ”Rob” Beiber II, grandsons Tim and Ian “Greg” Beiber, great grandchildren Blake and Shannon, a brother James W. Beiber, a sisters-in-law, a nephew, several nieces, a great niece, a great nephew and several cousins. Her neighbors and teaching partners were her special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Beiber and an infant sister.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 am in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Bob Welch and Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
