William C. “Bill” Starkey, 54, of Harrisville, died Sunday, Dec. 13, at his home after a long battle with cancer. His family was by his side. He was born Dec. 17, 1960 in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of George Daniel (Mary Jane) Starkey of Harrisville and the late Joann Stanco.
Bill was a former truck driver with Knight Trucking of Harrisville. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and just being outside.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Buckley Starkey; a brother, Robert Starkey and step-father, Michael Stanco.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are two daughters, Nicole Starkey of Harrisville and Danielle Starkey of Gamber, Md.; two brothers, George (Roxane)
Starkey, Jr. of Wintersville and Greg Starkey of St. Clairsville; a sister, Vickie(Rick) Rennicker of Dennison; three step-brothers, Warren Baker of GA, Roy Baker of Va., and James Stanco of Ohio; four step-sisters, Debbie Baker of Virginia, Diane Baker Clevenger of Cambridge, Linda (James) Sarkeysion of Maryland, and Connie (Robert) Springhetti, of Warrensville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, Dec. 18 from 4 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Rev. Clint Quillen will officiate.
