Doris M. Brown, 80, of Deersville Ridge, Cadiz, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at Hospice House in New Philadelphia. She was born Jan. 6, 1935, a daughter of the late Thomas “Tony” Millinger and Ruth Abel Palmer.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women’s Club. She was a retired District Program Administrator from the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District in Cadiz, where she was inducted into its Hall of Fame. She enjoyed square dancing and listening to music at Hugo’s in Scio and the Cadiz Senior Center and all things social. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Brown in 1979; and siblings, Betty Thompson, Eileen Fleck Zoll, Melvin “Pete” Lightner and John Millinger.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra Norris (James Siddall) of Wellington, Ohio, Susan Grant (David Gilmore) of Blacklick, Ohio, and Lori Brown-Ruth (Tom) of Uhrichsville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren (and one on the way); a brother, Ronald Millinger (Betty) of Maxie, Va.; and a special friend and companion, Joe Taggart and his four daughters, Janet (Craig) Brokaw, Joyce (Tim) Antol, Jody (T.J.) Pizzino, and Jo Ellen (Jerry) Moore and their families.

Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 22, 4-7 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Henry Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
