Josephine “Jo” Streley 74 of Jewett, Ohio went to be with the lord on Jan. 13. She was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Pine Grove, W.Va., daughter of the late Joseph and Frosty Williams Kirkpatrick. Jo was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Streets, one sister and two brothers.
She was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ, and was also a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher there for 17 years. She belonged to a military support group, was a member of the Hopedale Players and the former Hopedale Garden Club. For a number of years, she also operated a Day Care Center.
Jo is survived by her husband Carl Streley, a son Ed Streets and his two sons, Joey and Jeremy all of Columbus: a daughter, Leisa Baker of Hopedale and her two sons, Jason and wife Rachel Streets of Fall Brook, California; Anthony and wife Chrissy Hoagland of Mingo Junction. There is also a granddaughter, Mandi Jo Moore of Hopedale, there are four great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call Friday Jan. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Blackburn Funeral Home, 324 High St., Hopedale, Ohio. Services will be at 11 a.m. in the Hopedale Church of Christ on Saturday Jan. 16. Pastor Dean Blyth will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale.
