Gertrude V. “Gert” Rogers, 75 of Cadiz, died Sunday, Jan. 24,  at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio.  She was born Aug. 26, 1940 in New Athens, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Wilma Lucas Keyser.

She was a member of the New Athens UMC, an avid Facebook user and the retired superintendent of the Harrison County Home.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, William Gerald “Jerry” Rogers in 2013 and a son, Ronald Rogers.

She is survived by four sons: Donald (Debi) Rogers of Cadiz, Joseph (Sheri) Rogers of Harrisville, Brian Rogers of Cadiz and Joe (Karen) Kellaway of Grafton, W.Va.;  a daughter Vietta (Jim) Ostojich of Cadiz; four grandchildren: Stacie, Brian, Jason and Donald; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Edgar “Auggie” (Ginny) Keyser of New Athens; three sisters: Carol Ann Huffman and Jean (Lanny) Erdos all of New Athens, and Jane Hanood of Magnolia, Ohio.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 2-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jon Little officiating. Burial will follow at Rankin Church Cemetery.
