Mr. Gerald “Mose” Dean Wurschum, 77, of Fayetteville, NC formerly of Hopedale, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born on June 9, 1938, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to the late Charles Richard Wurschum and Gladys Pratt Wurschum. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dean Wurschum. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Byers Wurschum, of the home; one daughter, Paula A. Faircloth and husband Byron, of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sons, Toby W. Wurschum, and wife Angelika of Rio Rancho, NM, Daren L. Wurschum and wife Ruth, of Stedman, N.C., and Eric A. Wurschum, and wife Lisa, of St. Pauls, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special, close nephew, Michael E. Wurschum, and wife Judy, of Hopedale, Ohio, along with several other nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces of Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38102.
