Charles E. DeLoach, age 84, formerly of Jewett, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, in Valley Hospice, Steubenville. He had resided at Country Club Manor in Steubenville for the past three years. He was born June 29, 1931 in Ludowici, Ga., he was a son of the late Virginia Testin. Charles served in the Army for 14 years retiring as a Platoon Sergeant. He worked for Eaton Steel in Cleveland prior to becoming disabled.

Charles was a member of the Scio American Legion Post #482, and a former member of the Cleveland VFW. He enjoyed his life at Country Club Manor helping the staff, putting puzzles together and playing Bingo and cards, especially SKIPBO.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores Swank DeLoach and his Aunt Menalie, who he considered as a mother.

Surviving are children Faye (Cleon) Rhymes of Georgia, Chuck (Melissa) DeLoach of Nebraska, Chris Deloach of Cleveland, Glenn (Debbie) DeLoach of Jewett and Kerensa “Kerry” (Chris) Crossland of Cleveland; step children Lynn Cendrowski and Laura Klein both of Cleveland; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett with Chaplain George Romage officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, Ohio 43943. Koch Funeral Home in Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
