Loving Mother and Grandmother
Frances Rose Williamson, age 94, formerly of Jewett, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, in Gables Care Center, Hopedale.
Frances was born May 22, 1921 in Santa Rosa, Calif., and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. She worked for many years at Fairview Gardens Greenhouse in Jewett where she was affectionately known as “Blondie”. Every season all the area greenhouses and herb farms were visited several times to find new and old varieties of plant to add to her gardens. Frances enjoyed walking and being out in nature. She loved all animals, especially watching birds and collected teddy bears. She also enjoyed reading and sharing new information. But what she loved most was being a wonderful mother and grandmother. When her children were young they spent many evenings around a campfire in the back yard with family and friends.
Surviving are her children James (Karen) Williamson of Barnesville and Betty (Denny) Kovarik of Jewett and a grandson Damian Kovarik (Amee Glasure) of Jewett. She was preceded in death by her son Glen Williamson on Oct. 14, 2015.
Private graveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jewett VFD, PO Box 15, Jewett 43986 or Jewett Wild Cat Center, c/o Dwight Busby, PO Box 242 Jewett, 43986. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements.
