Lailah V. Basnett, 65, of Kissimmee, Florida died Sunday, Feb. 28, in Florida Hospital, in Kissimmee. She was born December 3, 1950 in Bulacan, Phillipines a daughter of the late Felix and Noren Falcon Benedictos.

She was a retired Logistics officer for the state government and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee where she served on the Catholic Council of Women.

She is survived by her husband Gary L. Basnett of Kissimmee; a son Gary L. Basnett, Jr. of Kissimmee; a daughter, Mary Ann (Mike) Gallagher of Honolulu, Hawaii; a

granddaughter, Anna Marie Gallagher; two brothers: Jun Benedictos of San Diego, Calif., and Johnathan (Marilyn) Benedictos of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters: Marilyn Benedictos of the Phillipines, Lena (Steve) Schaeffer of Ocala, Florida, Bae (Kevin) Ludwicke of Wildwood, Fla., and Norayda (David) Williams of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 3 from noon until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hopedale with Rev. Fr. Fred Kihm the celebrant. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jewett, Ohio.
