image1 (1)Larry G. Veach, age 63, of Scio, formerly of Norfolk, Va., passed away suddenly March 4, after a period of declining health.

Born Sept. 29, 1952 in Dennison he was a son of the late Elmer Kenneth Veach and Frances Veach. Larry graduated from Cadiz High School in 1972 and honorably served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He remained in Norfolk following the war where he owned and operated Design Excellence Hair Salon. He returned to Scio in October of 2015.

Larry was a talented dancer who toured Europe in 1971 with the Oglebay Prominaders from Wheeling, W.Va., and later had his own dance studio in Cadiz. He was a fun loving, kind hearted person who enjoyed cooking. But most of all he loved the time he spent with his family especially his nieces and nephews and their families whom he treated like his own children.

Surviving are his sister-in-law Janie Veach of Scio; a brother-in-law Kenneth (Suzie) Utter of Harrisville; nephews Erik (Amber) Veach of Kilgore and Doug (Dina) Utter of New Athens; nieces Jennifer (Eugene) Ross of Flushing and Nichole Utter of Cadiz; his longtime dear friend Richard Fentress of Bonita Springs, Fla.; great nephews Zach, Bryson and Brady and great nieces Shyloh, Kimberly and Miranda.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Mark Veach and a sister Kimberly Utter.

Private services will be held at the family’s convenience at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale. Memorial contributions may be made to Nichole Utter, 798 E Market St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907 to help with final expenses. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
