Cenia Patricia Mae Cox turned 80 on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 2016 and died later on that evening about 6:30 p.m. at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 17, 1936 in Hopedale, Ohio, raised and lived in Cadiz, a Scott United Methodist Church family member, prior to moving to London, Ohio.
She was known as a creative artist in drawing, painting, design, sold sculptures at Lazarus chain stores and for her amazing pies. She was happiest when with her children and dogs; they meant everything to her. She was also a long time employee of the Ohio State Auditor’s Office and president of the London Village Condo Association. Cenia was preceded in death by her parents George Alroy and Mildred Irene Jenkins of Cadiz, Ohio, first husband Franklin D. Dowdle, Sr., of Cadiz, Ohio, second husband Donald Bardon, London, Ohio, third husband Robert Cox, London, Ohio and brother Glen A. Voit.
She is survived by her brother George Leroy Jenkins (wife Gina), Scottsdale, Arizona, son Franklin Delano Dowdle, Sr., Chillicothe, Ohio, daughters Sheila Mae (Dowdle) Turrell, Cadiz, Ohio, Sylvia Irene (Dowdle) Johnson, Sunbury, Ohio and Dawn (Bardon) Assen (husband Johannes) Marysville, Ohio, grandchildren Chad Alan Williams, Chelsee Mae Williams (husband J.R.), Darcy Patricia Johnson, Joseph Anthony Assen, and Donald Robert Assen, great grand children Abbigail and Jaxson Williams. The Monday evening receiving and Tuesday morning funeral were held at Rader-Lynch & Dodds Funeral Home in London, Ohio with Father Mark Ghiloni officiating and final resting place at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
