Paul Griffith Spragg, age 84, of Westerville, Ohio died on April 20, at Columbus Colony Elderly Care under hospice care. He was born in Adena, Ohio on Jan. 17, 1932 to the late Charles H. and Elizabeth (Griffith) Spragg. He is survived by his loving wife, Sara, of 62 years; children, Pamela (Jim) Ramsey, Sharon (Mac) Powell, Jim (JoAnn) Spragg; grandchildren, Rachelle (Matthew) Shaffer, Zac (Renee) Ramsey, Andrew Powell, Benjamin Spragg, Trevor Powell and fiancée Belinda, Will Ramsey, Lindsay Spragg and Jenny Spragg; great-grandson Theodore Paul Shaffer; siblings Tom (Mabel) Spragg, Martha (Bob) Moran, Charles (Phyllis) Spragg and Bill (Jan) Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was born at the Spragg Family Farm and lived there for 79 years. Paul and Sara raised their children on their family farm where he was a farmer and a reclamation foreman for Bedway Coal Company. He was a lifelong member of Harrisville Covenant Presbyterian Church where he was an elder. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Adena Lions Club, charter member and president of Harrisville Ruritan Club, and president of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
Paul loved spending time with his family, farming, traveling, sports and playing cards. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
Funeral services were held April 23 at Harrisville Covenant Presbyterian Church with Reverend Barry Hall officiating.
