Ross B. Wells, 80, of Cadiz, died Saturday, May 7, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 16, 1936 near Cadiz, a son of the late Glenn Fletcher and Beulah Birney Wells.
Mr. Wells attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and a retired coal miner, having worked at Kimble and Cravat Coal Companies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Tri County Bass Masters. He enjoyed working on the farm with his cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Wells; a brother, Charles Wells; and a great grandson, Conner Wells.
Surviving are his wife, Glenna Davis Wells; two sons, Steve (Debbie) Wells of Cadiz, and Paul (Pat) Wells of New Philadelphia; a daughter Pam (Rick) Howell of Scio; six grandchildren: Chad, Brian, Chelsea, Christopher, Jacob and Brandon; six great grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Carol) Wells of Grove City; three sisters, Irma Stewart of Marietta, Maxine (Jack) Smittle of Ada and Rebecca (Frank), Martino of St. Clairsville.
Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery.
