Donald W. (Willis) Kelley, age 83, of Strasburg, passed away Tuesday evening, June 7 at Akron General Hospital. Born in Kenwood, Ohio, on May 5, 1933 to Samuel and Myrtle (Thompson) Kelley; Donald graduated from Cadiz High School in 1951, then served honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Republic Steel of Massillon for 32 years. He loved his family, and spending time with them all. He also enjoyed camping and going to area casinos. He truly enjoyed tinkering and driving his father’s antique car. Trying new food and eating out with his family made him a happy man. He and his family were members of St. Joseph’s Parish of Dover, Ohio. He was a Boys Scout Leader in Strasburg for many years. Donald was a member of many organizations: Strasburg American Legion, Dover Knights of Columbus, past member of Dover Moose, Dover VFW, Strasburg AARP.
Preceding him in death: his mother and father, brothers Melvin and Loraine; sisters Sadie Kelley, Pearl Keller, Erma Cunningham, and Ina Lisceski.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann (Maleyrick), son Joe (Lori) Kelley of New Philadelphia, Daughters Donna Ross of Copley, and Michelle (Jeff) Rapoza of Copley. Grandson Donovan (Danielle) of Stow. Step Grandchildren Phillip (Traci) Orzeck and Katie Orzeck. Great Granddaughters Payton and Brenna Kelley, and step great grandsons Jayson, Eli and Parker Orzeck. Sister Esther (Kelley) (Monte) Frashure of Cadiz and several nieces and nephews.. Family did receive friends June 9 at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, Ohio. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday June 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover OH. Burial in Union Town Cemetery in Cadiz, Ohio.
