Thomas Henry Reed, 78, of Jewett, died Saturday, July 2, at Trinity Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio, the result of an auto accident. He was born Dec. 17, 1937 in Waynesburg, Ohio, a son of the late Charles Lester and Hattie Mae Nolf Reed.
Tom was a retired Oiler for Schiappa Coal Co. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, and was a member of Stumptown Steam Threshers Association. He was a member of the Wintersville Congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Ward Reed in 2009; a son, Paul Michael Reed; and a sister, Bertha Butcher.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Ward Exline Reed; children, Melissa (William) Davidson of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas Harry Reed of Nappanee, IN, Melody Reed of Jewett, and Leroy (Cheryl) Reed of Brookville, Pa; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Carl Reed of Malvern, OH; and a sister, Mary Peebles of Minerva, Ohio.
Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Bishop Clyde Larson will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery near Jewett.
