Joyce P. Carothers Maxwell, 75, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, July 6, at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville. She was born Oct. 9, 1940 in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Bennie Carothers, Sr. and Violet M. Steiner Carothers.
Joyce was an active member of the First Apostolic Church in Cadiz for over 65 years. She was a retired Nurses Aid at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. Her church and her family were her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Carothers, and a sister, Mildred Michelli.
Surviving are a son, Roy (Carla) Maxwell; two daughters, Vicki Maxwell and Pam Evans, all of Cadiz; four grandchildren, Nichole, Alicia, Cody and Nathan; two great
grandchildren, Noah and Garrett; a brother Bennie (Joan) Carothers, Jr.; her lifelong best friend/sister, Shirley (Randy) Ball of Cadiz; and her beloved dog, Sassy.
Friends may call Saturday from 4-7 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the First Apostolic Church, 158 N. Ohio St., Cadiz, with Rev. Ray Ellenbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
