Shirley A. Tipton, 80, of Hopedale, Ohio died July 14, in Trinity West Medical Center, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born May 6, 1936, in Smithfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Sarver Sabo. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Jack and John Sabo.
Over the years, Shirley had worked for Hills in Steubenville, Ames Dept. Store and retired from the Country Store in Hopedale. She was a founder and former 4-H advisor of the Town and Country 4-H in Hopedale.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Alan Tipton and companion (Kimberly Patterson)of Cambridge, Ohio, and Randy (Kelley) Tipton of Weskin, Kansas.
A sister, Dolly Smith of Hopedale, a step-brother Kenneth (Ellen) Busby of California. Grandchildren are Tyler Tipton, Sean Tipton, Travis Mote and Kara and Brittany Cowles. Great grandchildren are Teyahna and Kaien. Also surviving is “Bubba”, Shirley’s cat, her beloved companion for many years.
Friends may call on Monday, July 18, at the Blackburn Funeral Home, 324 High St. Hopedale, Ohio, from noon to time of service at 2 p.m. Pastor Tom Snodgrass will officiate and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery near Hopedale.
