Daniel V. Gale, Sr., 64 of Jewett, died Sunday July 17, at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville, Ohio. He was born Oct. 9, 1951 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Fred and Alberta Lawrence Gale.
He was a former coal miner having worked at Y&O Coal Company Nelms Mine and worked for the Harrison County Auditor’s office in the weights and measures department. He was a member of the Bethel UMC near Jewett, Ohio.
Dan is survived by his wife, Shirley Trouten Gale; two sons: James Kelley of Carrollton and Daniel Gale, Jr. of Canton; a daughter, Shawn (Eric) Nelson of Cadiz; six grandchildren: Nicole Nelson, Casey Dotson, Kyrsten Gale, Daniel Gale III, Jessica Nelson and Kiera Gale; a great grandchild on the way, Kenton Stutz; two sisters: Rosemary Martinez and Beverly Hudson both of Dallas, Texas and a brother, Michael Gale of Cadiz, Ohio.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rod Bowers officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
