Pauline Deselms, 98, of Dover, and formerly of Guernsey County, Ohio died Saturday, July 30, in the Park Village Health Care Center.
Born April 12, 1918 in Tippecanoe, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Ruby Craigo Ervin. Pauline was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold T. Deselms on Feb. 7, 1991; sisters, Isabelle Huprich, Hazel Ferguson; daughter in law, Vera Deselms and a granddaughter.
Pauline, along with Harold, owned and operated Deselms General Store in Londonderry for many years. She was an active member of the Freeport Chapter #319 of the Order of Eastern Star where she held many different positions within the order and was a District Deputy Grand Matron. Pauline was also a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church and attended St. Johns United Church of Christ in Dover. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies for her family and friends. She was a 1936 graduate of Freeport High School.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Pauline will be sadly missed by her children, Carol Ann (Ken) Huprich of New Philadelphia, Bob Deselms of Florida; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, with one great grandchild due in two weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 23045 Cadiz Rd., Freeport, Ohio, with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Londonderry. Friends can call at the Londonderry United Methodist Church two hours prior to the service on Friday. Eastern Star services will be held at 1:45 p.m.
