Anna Baker, 93, loving mother and grandmother of Hopedale, Ohio, went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 12, at Trinity West in Steubenville. She was born in Hrabske, Slovakia, on Sept. 26, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Anna Mihalik-Trudick. She graduated from Toronto High School and Thompson Business School. Anna was a member of the Hopedale United Methodist Church and retired from the Harrison Career Center in Cadiz. She loved cooking and caring for her family, and she had a special gift for hospitality and could make anyone feel loved or cared for.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her late husband, Harold, who died Aug. 18, 1992; her brothers, John Trudick Jr., Peter Trudick, George Trudick; and her sister Maria Paluch. She is survived by her children: Harold D. Baker (JoAnn) of Dover, Patricia Staley (Kenneth) of Hopedale, and Robert Baker of Wintersville. Anna is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Blackburn Funeral Home (324 High St. Hopedale, Ohio 43976). Funeral services will be on Friday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Kenneth Staley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
