The Edison High School Wildcats boys’ basketball team will have some new threads when they hit the hardwood next season after receiving a $4,700 donation from Ball Corporation of Weirton, WV.
Head Coach Nate Moses said the contribution will allow the varsity and junior varsity teams to replace outdated uniforms.
“The plan is to purchase new uniforms with the funding we received, which will help us in the years to come. It will be enough for us for the next four or five years,” he added.
Moses explained the funds cover one team set of uniforms for home and away games, plus it will update teams such as the junior varsity uniforms that are nearly a decade old. Moses has been researching prices and plans to order the new gear so the players are ready for the next season.
“It’s the first time we’ve been able to do anything like this. I’m greatly appreciative because any donation helps us and I won’t need to do fundraisers. This will be used for the athletes,” he said.
