CHS lady golfers defeat Tusky Valley, Minerva, Louisville, fall to Marlington


The Carrollton girls golf team won two out of three matches last week to bring their season record to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.

They opened play last week with triangular against Marlington and Tusky at the Tannenhauf golf course.

Carrollton defeated Tusky Valley 200-206, but the Dukes from Marlington were the overall winner with a 178.

Low for Carrollton was Emily Kean with a 45, Grace Bartlow followed with a 48, Erin Shockey added a 51 and Regan Weiland finished with a 56.

Last Tuesday, the Warriors defeated rival Minerva 195-197 at the Par 36 Edgewater Golf Course.

Kean shot a 44 to lead the Warriors, while Abby and Erin Shockey each added a 52.

Jordan VanMeter led the Lions with a 38, while Kaylee Norris added a 50, Baeli Waller a 52 and Kennedy Gross a 57.


The Lady Warriors ended play with a 185-188 win over visiting Louisville last Friday.

Bartlow fired a 41 to pace the Warriors, while Kean followed with a 43, Abby Shockey shot a 50 and Erin Shockey a 51.
