County DD board looking to hire service and support administrator


A Service and Support administration position is open with the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities program.

Supt. Matt Campbell informed members of the Board at their Oct. 22 meeting he intends to post the position, which pays between $30,280 and $47,313 based on experience, in November. Applications are due Nov. 30. For further information ,call the administration office at 330-627-6555.

Campbell explained the Board currently employs four Service and Support administrators. The general rule is to have caseloads of 30 or less. Each of our SSA staff has caseloads of 30, 31, 32 and 36, respectively, he said.

He noted that SSA staff have more than usual work load also due to all the changes in development disabilities service. “It is also likely that a SSA will retire next year so this will give a new SSA time to be mentored,” he added.

Campbell also told the Board he was notified that the Ohio Department of Development Disabilities will conduct an Accreditation review Jan. 20 and 21. “The board has been preparing for this with the services purchased from Mid-East Ohio Regional Council,” he said.

The Superintendent also said it is time to work on the 2016 annual Action Plan, which is the implementation of the board’s 2014-2018 Strategic Plan.

Campbell said the board’s three goals are to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of Board services, increase community education and awareness of the need for board services and to strive to be more person centered,” he said.

Annual Action Plan surveys are available on the Carroll Hills website ( and at the administration office at 1182 Roswell Rd. NW, Carrollton. The public hearing on the Action Plan is scheduled for Dec. 7 from 2-4 p.m. at the administration building.

Campbell also reminded the board the notice for two 30-passenger school buses and one 71-72 passenger school bus bid was sent out Oct. 8 and 15 for publication in two area newspapers. The bus bids are to be opened Oct. 29, fulfilling requirements of the U. s. Environmental Protection Agency assistance agreement.

In other business, the Board:

– APPROVED payment of $2,430 for September bills in the hot lunch account;

– APPROVED payment of $66,146.19 for September bills in the general fund account;

– APPROVED payment of $3,930.95 for September bills in the residential service account;

– APPROVED one new application for Family Selected Services;

– SET the next regular meeting for Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the administration building.
