Potential candidates for the 2018 primary and general elections are reminded Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 4 p.m. is the deadline to file petitions with the Carroll County Board of Elections.
The three county office terms expiring this year are the Jan. 1 term of Carroll County Commissioner, Carroll County Auditor and Carroll County Common Pleas Court Judge General Division.
Also, persons wishing to seek a seat on the county Democrat or Republican Central Committees are required to file a Declaration of Intent by the Feb. 7 deadline.
State offices to be decided by party affiliation at the May primary election are Governor, Attorney General, Auditor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Senate (30th District) , State Central Committees for affiliated political parties, and Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, 2019 terms of Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
National posts include Representative to Congress (6th District) and U. S. Senate, which both include Carroll County.
A term on the Seventh District Court of Appeals, which also includes Carroll County, is expiring in 2018.
The Carroll County Board of Elections is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
