On May 19, 2018, God lifted Diane (Toot) Herron into the peaceful paradise of life everlasting and ended her earthly struggles caused by Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was warmly embraced at the heavenly gates by her grandson, Andrew (infant son of Jeff and Kim); both she and Bob’s parents, Harry and Edna Toot and Dean and Juanita Herron; her sister, Marilyn Louella (Toot) Verunac and her sister-in-law and nephew, Clara and Gary Toot.
Di, will forever live on in the love from her high school sweetheart, her lifelong friend and her beloved husband of 58 years, Bob. When they married and started a family, they were merely teenagers themselves; but they made a commitment before their parents and God ‘in sickness and in health – until death do us part’. They willfully upheld that pledge and from the day of their union, they dedicated themselves to ensure that their family was the nucleus of their life. Together Bob and Diane enjoyed traveling and spending time with their friends, as well as all things family. She also enjoyed trips with her ‘girls’ and their shopping outings, Vegas and the casinos.
Bob and Diane took great pride in their family and set a supportive and loving example for their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will, forever, be held in the hearts of their three children and their families: Robert, Jr. and Dina Herron and their family Ryan, Zach and Dr. Robert Herron, III and his daughter Rosy; Julie and Charlie (Castellucci) and their family, Danielle, Nick, and Megan and their children Ava and Charles; and Jeff and Kim Herron and their daughter Rebecca. As a Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma, Diane received pure joy from the activities and successes of her family.
Diane was dearly loved and admired by her brother, Dave and her nephew, Jim Toot; her niece and nephew, Eric and Victoria Verunac; and Bob’s siblings, Pat and Rachel Herron, Margie and Dan Best, Dave and Kris Herron and each of their families; as well as her dear friends, Shirley and Gene Thompson.
The visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Carrollton, where Diane was a devoted and active member, Thursday, May 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. We will then celebrate Diane’s life everlasting at 11 a.m. May 25 at the church. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery.
