Doris W. Brown, 86, of Salineville passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, in Carroll Golden Age Retreat.
Doris was a country girl who loved nature and many of her best friends were of the four-legged variety. She found enjoyment in collecting rocks brought to her by family and friends from around the country and around the world. Doris was a lover of music and was able to play the guitar and violin. Along with her husband, Frank, she enjoyed attending square dances, where she would often play the guitar or violin. Her memberships included: Salineville Church of Christ, Wellsville Historical Society, and Mother of Twins Club.
She is survived by three sons, Frank W. (Karen) Brown, Todd D. (Cheryl) Brown, Thomas Brown; four grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Amanda Tabler, Jaimee Clark, Brandon Brown; three great grandchildren, Janelle Clark, Aaron Brown, Sophia Brown; sister, Esther Woodrow Raffa; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Brown, whom she married Jan. 27, 1951; and a brother, James L. Woodrow.
Funeral services for Doris will be Tuesday, May 10 at 11 a.m. in Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicstown Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
