“It was a good day for us… We want to make sure that we run our best races the last two races of the season at Regionals and State,” said Carrollton cross country Head Coach Mike Aukerman. “I’m happy with the results, obviously a couple trophies would have been better but in the end it’s all about qualifying to the Regional and getting the Regional championship.”

When Aukerman was asked about Lovett and Dunlap he said, “Those two are a rare breed. They do everything that’s asked of them, they make sacrifices away from the training and they do everything right. It’s not by accident that they run the times they do, they’re great kids and they work hard and do the things you ask them to do in terms of workout, eating and sleeping… Both those kids have a great chance of winning Regionals next week and being in the top 10 or 12 in the state come November.”

The Carrollton cross country team will travel to Pickerington High School to run at Regionals Saturday.
