Elaine May Grunder age 79 of Minerva passed away at her residence Tuesday, November 24, 2015. She was born December 10, 1935 in Carroll County to the late Floyd William and Eileen Olive (Brothers) Hollender.
Elaine was married to Albert Allison Grunder Jr. for 51 years. She attended the Harsh Church and also the Church of God in Minerva. Elaine was an avid bowler. She retired from Carroll Lanes where she worked for 38 years. Elaine received the 2015 Hall of Fame Inductee for “meritorious service”. She was a delegate to state and national conventions; McCook WBA, McCook USBC, McCook YABA and was a Director for Carroll Lanes from 83-97.
Beside her husband she is survived by a son Robert “Buddy” Reed of Tenn. A step -son Albert Grunder III of Carrollton: three daughters: Joy Butler of Minerva; Christal DeGarmo of Carrollton: Jennifer Grunder of Carrollton and two step daughters: Brenda Potts and Cindy Sandefur . Two brothers: George (Kaylene) Hollender of Georgia and Bill (George Ann) Hollender of Warren. Three sisters: Karen (Robert) Klotz of North Canton: Bessie Hollender of Minerva and Sheila (Randy) Phillips also of Minerva, Ten Grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death were her parents and a brother Roger and his wife Margaret.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 3P.M. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton visitation will be from 1 to 3 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
