Floyd S. Haynam, 94, of Minerva, died Wednesday, Dec.16, 2015, in his home surrounded by his family.
Born Jan. 31, 1921, in Robertsville, he was a son to Earl and Mabel (Stonehill) Haynam. He was a longtime dairy farmer and member of the Bayard Grange #1878. His passion was his draft horses. He enjoyed taking them to parades, participating in draft horse pulls and giving children rides, as well as, logging timber with his team.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Irene (Beckley) Haynam, whom he married Sept. 11, 1948; four daughters, Lucinda Bos of North Canton, Lucille (Mark)Vaughn of Canton, Roxanne Cope (Robert) Sterling of Leetonia and Roxie Haynam (Mike Schmuck) of Minerva; son, Harry (Connie) Haynam of Minerva; sister, May Ella (Frank) Boyd of East Rochester; seven grandchildren, Brad, Amy, Emily, Lisa, April, Taylor and Preston; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar “Dutch”, Ellwood “Nubby”, Lester and Lee Haynam. A special “Thank You” to Sharon Leigh, from the family, for all her wonderful care.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial (with horse drawn hearse) will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made the Hospice of Alliance.
