Herman Hite, 77, of Augusta, passed away Oct. 14, 2015, in Golden Age Retreat surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 23, 1936, in Pikeville, KY.
He retired from Con-Rail in Canton after 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Ann Hite of the residence, whom he married 56 years ago on Nov.23 1958; one daughter, Darlene (Stewart) Kirkland of Mechanicstown; a son, Rick (Lori) Hite of Alliance; three sisters, Irene Blackburn of Pikeville, KY, Christine (Jim) Miller and May Hite, both of Salem; three brothers, Gordon (Grace) Hite of Salem, Southie Hite of and Cecil (Sue) Hite, both of Pikesville, KY; a grandson, Cody; granddaughters, Samantha, Heather, Holly, Lindsay, Kristi and Stephanie; two great grandchildren, Ayden and Bristol; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Sue; his parents, Lige and Alma Hite; and a brother, Bill Hite.
Calling hours for Herman will be Saturday, Oct. 17 in Bethesda Presbyterian Church from noon until 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.
Maple-Cotton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
