Homer Russell Carman, 81, of Kensington, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, in his home surrounded by family.
Born Sept. 4, 1933, in Augusta, he was a son of the late Lewis and Olive (Russell) Carman.
He worked at Salem Pottery in Salem and Cronin China in Minerva and retired after 44 years from Guess Manufacturing in Mechanicstown.
He was an avid bird fancier and raised ornamental pheasants, a variety of peafowl, doves and pigeons. For 21 years, Homer enjoyed traveling between his home in Port Orange, FL, and Kensington.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joyce F (Alexander) Carman; a sister, Enamay Carman, of Canton; four daughters, Audrey (Russell) Coldsnow and Diane (Ken) Hardy, both of East Rochester, and Louise (Mike) Webb and Mindy Carman, both of Salem; a son, Jerry Carman, of Augusta; a step daughter, Stephanie Allison, of Hanoverton; grandchildren, Shawn Mesler, Levi Coldsnow, Lucas Coldsnow, Adam Coldsnow, Nathan Coldsnow, Annie (Webb) Manley, Cody Webb, Heather (Coldsnow) Anderson, Ken Hardy, Jr., Melody (Orr) McConnell, James Strait and Shannon Mathers; great-grandchildren, Levi Coldsnow, Jr., Gabrielle Coldsnow, Riley Mesler, Hayden Mesler, Madeline Manley, Brooke Manley, Anna Webb, Ella Webb, Alexis Ziedrich, Trenton Anderson, Landon Anderson, Jovie Mathers, Austin Strait, and Logan and Kelsie McConnell; and his feline companions, Mama Kitty and Breep.
A special thank you to Stephanie, Diane, Mindy and Shannon for giving their time and tenderness to their loved one to make him comfortable in his last days.
