Jane E. Eick, 84, of Malvern, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
Born Aug. 28, 1931, in Moultrie, OH, she was a daughter to Carl and Evelyn (Bucher) Schmidt. She had been a cook for Cibo’s Restaurant in Waynesburg and the Little Forest Inn in Malvern. She was a 4-H Leader for Telstar 4-H and Searchers 4-H clubs and loved making decorations with plastic canvas.
She is survived by husband of 63 years, Thomas Eick Sr., whom she married Dec. 22, 1951; two daughters, Jean (Gary) Craven and Tina Gray, both of Waynesburg; four sons, Thomas Eick Jr., Larry (Rhonda) Eick and Terry (Vickie) Eick, all of Minerva, and Jon (Jodi) Eick of Bloomingdale; two sisters, Rosina Seaburn of Dellroy and Linda (Mike) Priebe of Sauk Village, IL; brother, Carl Schmidt of Minerva; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Visnick; a sister, Cleta Hartshorn; and a brother, Clarence “Conkey” Schmidt.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Phyllis Crone officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
