Joseph Michael Holbert, age 66 of Carrollton passed away at his residence Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015.
Born March 12, 1949 in Charlestown, WV, he was a son to Garland Lee and Naomi Mae (Harper) Holbert.
Joe was a steel worker with Republic Storage in Canton as a tow motor driver. He belonged to Local Steel Worker’s Union 2345. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on cars.
He is survived by a son Harold Bailey of Massillon; three daughters, Mary (Mark) Jones of Strongsville, Lisa (David) Costner of Brooklyn, OH, and Leslie (Sam) Barr of Carrollton; six brothers, Dallas (Phyllis) Holbert and James Holbert, both of Walton, WV, Douglas (Chris) Holbert of Brunswick, Steve (Edna) Holbert of Sandyville, Randall (Peggy) Holbert of Elkview, WV, and Timothy (Donna) Holbert of Walton, WV; and a sister, Phyllis (Jerry) Wilson of Walton, WV; 14 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Eileen (Gowin) Holbert, whom he married March 12, 1969, and who passed away April 8, 2015; a son, Vern Bailey; and four brothers, Ronald, Terry, Thomas and Gary.
A funeral service was held Aug. 10 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Gilreath officiating. Burial followed in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
