Lady bowlers headed for state tournament

The Carrollton girls bowling team, shown here with the district champion plaque, will compete in the state tournament this Saturday at Columbus.

HEATH – For the first time in the history of bowling at Carrollton High School, the girls team qualified for the State Tournament.

Warrior freshman Cailyn Bright bowled a tournament high 590 series to help the Carrollton Lady Warriors bowling team to the Division I district championship Saturday at Heath.

The Warriors finished with a team score of 3,567 to advance to the state tournament this Saturday at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.

Rachel Bright rolled a 537 to place third overall and Mallory Fox was fifth with a 518 and Rickee Stidom bowled a 503. Kira Anderson was 24th with a 307.

One team and one individual not on a qualifying team advanced to the state tournament.

The Warriors finished the regular season as champions of the Stark County High School Bowling Conference American Division and the tied with the Minerva Lady Lions for the title in the Northeatsern Buckeye Conference championship.
