Lady bowlers top Claymont, boys team falls to Mustangs


UHRICHSVILLE – The Carrollton girls bowling team won their first match of the year and the boys fell for the second time this season last week at Claymont.

The girls team picked up a 2687-2285 win over the Mustangs. The boys team fell 2784 to 2592.

In the individual games, Rickee Stidom rolled games of 195 and 206 to lead the Warriors to a 1892-1640 margin before the baker rotation. Rachel Bright rolled games of 182 and 212 for a 394; Kira Anderson, games of 222 and 166 for a 388; Mallory Fox, games of 157 and 199 for a 356 and Cailyn Bright, games of 194 and 159 for a 353.

Carrollton won the baker 176-157.

Ashley Beckley led the Mustangs with games of 173 and 171 for a total of 344.

The Warrior boys team was led by Damon Gilland with games of 238 and 194 for a 432. Emmett Davis rolled games of 151 and 220 for a 371; Mark Grimm, 179 both games for a 358; Zac Roberts, 156 (one game); Kaleb Nape, 181 (one game); and Jace Soloman (161) one game, for a team total of 1809.

Jim Basiletti led the Mustangs with games of 200 and 245 for a total of 445. The team individual total was 1935.

The Mustangs won the baker by one pin, 190-189.

The Warriors were scheduled to open Stark County High School Bowling Conference action Dec.5 at South Range High School. They host Louisville High School Dec. 8 at Carroll Lanes.
