Notice of General Election

R.C. 3501.03

The Board of Elections of Carroll County, Ohio, issues this Proclamation and Notice of Election.

A General Election will be held on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 2016, at the usual place of holding elections in each and every precinct throughout the County or at such places as the Board may designate, for the purpose of choosing the following offices: President and Vice President, U.S. Senator, Representative to Congress (6th District), State Senator (30th District), State Representative (95th District), County Commissioner (Full term commencing 1-2-2017), County Commissioner (Full term commencing 1-3-2017), Prosecuting Attorney, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, Sheriff, County Recorder, County Treasurer, County Engineer, Coroner, Member of State Board of Education (8th District) (unexpired term ending 12-31-2018), Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Full term commencing 1-1-2017, Justice of the Supreme Court (Full term commencing 1-1-2017), Justice of the Supreme Court (Full term commencing 1-2-2017), and Judge of the Court of Appeals (7th District) (Full term commencing 2-9-2017), and determining the following questions and issues: Village of Sherrodsville current expenses, Village of Minerva Senior Friendship Center, Village of Magnolia gas aggregation, Village of Magnolia electric aggregation, Village of Magnolia maintaining police, Village of Magnolia current expenses, Village of Magnolia current expenses, Brown Township roads, Fox Township fire, Orange Township current expenses, Perry Township current expenses, Perry Township fire, Rose Township roads, Rose Township fire, Union Township fire, Sandy Valley Local School District emergency requirements, Jefferson County JVS current expenses, Great Trail Joint Fire District fire, Sandy Creek Joint Fire District operating expenses, Perry Township Local Option weekly sale of beer, wine and mixed beverages, Perry Township Local Option Sunday Sales, Carroll County Golden Age Retreat maintenance and operation, and Carroll County Health District maintenance and operation.

The polls for the election will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Notice of Election on Tax Levy in Excess of the Ten Mill Limitation

Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Township of Brown of Carrollton, Ohio passed on the 16th of May, 2016, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the General Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 2016, the question of levying a tax, in excess of the ten mill limitation for the benefit of Brown Township (excluding the Village of Malvern and the portion of Brown Township that lies inside the Village of Minerva) for the purpose of general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of roads. Tax being an additional tax at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.15 for each one hundred dollars of valuation for 5 years.

The polls for the election will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Township of Fox of Carrollton, Ohio passed on the 24th of May, 2016, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the General Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 2016, the question of levying a tax, in excess of the ten mill limitation for the benefit of Fox Township for the purpose of providing for the payment of firefighting companies or volunteer firefighting personnel to operate the same. Tax being a renewal of an existing tax at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.15 for each one hundred dollars of valuation for 5 years.

The polls for the election will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Tax being a renewal of an existing tax at a rate not exceeding 0.4 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.04 for each one hundred dollars of valuation for 5 years.

The polls for the election will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Tax being a replacement of an existing tax at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.05 for each one hundred dollars of valuation for 5 years.

Tax being a renewal of an existing tax at a rate not exceeding 1.0 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation for 5 years.

Sealed bids for the purchase of Fire Equipment consisting of Hose, Nozzles and Appliances, for the Village of Carrollton will be received by the Village Administrator in the Carrollton Municipal Building at 80 Second Street S.W., Carrollton, Ohio 44615.

All bids shall be placed in a sealed envelope market “Carrollton Village Fire Department Hose & Appliance Bid” and be delivered to the office of the Village Administrator no later than noon, local time, November 18, 2016 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. *Said Premises Appraised at $54,000.00 and cannot be sold for less than two-thirds of that amount at the first sale date. If the property does not sell at first sale date and is offered at the second sale date, the sale will start with a “No set minimum bid”.
