It was a cold morning for a run, but that didn’t stop 872 high school athletes from running at the OHSAA State Cross-Country meet Saturday morning.
Carrollton juniors Cole Lovett and Maddie Dunlap qualified to compete at the State race along with 870 of the top runners in Ohio.
Dunlap finished 30th out of 142 runners with a time of 19:23.4 in Divison II.
Dunlap, who was named NBC runner of the year, struggled early but persevered at the end with a strong finish.
Lovett finished 42nd out of 146 runners with a time of 16:37.4 in Division II.
Dunlap, Lovett and Quinton Huggett will all run at the Nike National meet held in Indiana this weekend.
