Mark Alan Stoughton, 56, of Amsterdam died in his home early Dec. 10, 2015, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born Jan. 20, 1959, in Vandergrift, PA, he was a son of L. Andrew Stoughton, Sr. formerly of Toronto, OH now residing in Harrisville, PA, and the late Jean Kurten Stoughton.
Mark was a telecommunications manager for Donor Care Center of Minerva, a former deputy sheriff of Stark County, and a former volunteer fireman with the Toronto Fire Department. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a member of Amsterdam Church of God, MAPS Museum of Canton, NRA, Ohio Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohio Historical Society, and Great Trail Pathfinders Gun Club.
Mark is survived by: companion Khrystal Khoury of the home; stepson, James Michael Ulichney of Barberton; step daughter, Debbie May (Jeff) Semko of Streetsboro; two brothers, L. Andrew (Darla) Stoughton, Jr. of Harrisville, PA, and Donald Stoughton of Wellsburg, WV.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec.14 at 11 a.m. in Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Simmons Ridge Cemetery near Amsterdam. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
