Michael T. Seich, 87 of Carrollton died Aug. 27, 2017.
Born Sept.17, 1929, in Canton, he was the son of Michael L. and Anna Seich, and the brother of Betty (Seich) Gregory.
He attended Central Catholic High School and upon graduation, served in the Air Force, Air Sea Rescue Division during the Korean War. He studied Pre-Law at St. Joseph College in Illinois. and Mount Union College and worked as a paralegal. Mike retired from the U.S. Post Office and the Columbiana Co. M.R.D.D.
He was a life long student always reading and learning new things. He loved his family, cartooning, carving fish and gardening.
He is survived by six children, Paula (Troop) Bennett of Nebraska, Nancie (Ken) Burbick of Lisbon, Marcella (Mike) Owens of Mentor, Stephanie Seich of Dover, Kimberly Betz, of Willoughby and Thomas (Bridgett) Seich of Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Kaillyn Bennett, Lane Bennett, Sean (Kathy) Fritz, Byron (Chrissy) Fritz, Heather (Malcolm) Fritz, Taylor (Raymond) Yeager, Michael Owens Jr., Brandon Owens, Samantha (Matt) Shafer, Matt (Kayla) Betz, Brody Betz, Andrew Betz and Anikin Seich; and seven great- grandchildren: Brooke, Cody and Gianna Fritz, Kailyn & Mahlon Fritz, Eli Joe Shafer and Anikin Seich.
Along with his parents and sister, Betty, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Jagodinski) Seich, whom he married in 1952.
A Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Dungannon. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Dungannon. There will be no calling hours.
Instead of flowers, donations may be sent to the Smile Train organization, Hospice, or The Monastery of the Holy Cross in Carrollton.
