Minerva man dies in four-wheeler crash

A Minerva area man died in the early morning hours of Oct. 31 in a four-wheeler accident in Augusta Township.

Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams said Randall P. Willison, Jr. 53, whose last permanent address was Lisbon, but who was reportedly living at a Monarch Rd. residence, was killed when he wrecked a four-wheeler around 3 a.m.

“Willison drove his four-wheeler to the Corner Bar and was on his way home when the accident occurred,” Williams said. “He was wearing a helmet, but the helmet came off during the accident.”

Willison was driving northwest on Major Rd. when he lost control of the four-wheeler at the intersection of Malibu and Mayor roads, according to Williams. The four-wheeler went off the right side of the road, up an embankment and rolled over onto the roadway. Willison was trapped under the bike.

The sheriff said he is waiting for the results of toxicology testing before saying if alcohol contributed to the crash.

Willison’s death is listed as the second highway fatality in Carroll County in 2015.
