CARROLLTON – National Day of Prayer events are scheduled May 3 in Carroll County.
The annual observance will get underway on Public Square in Carrollton at 11 a.m. (weather permitting) with Bible readings.
A flag raising on Public Square is set for noon, along with music by the Carrollton High School Vocal Department, under the direction of Mindy Domer.
Proclamations will be read by Carrollton Mayor Bill Stoneman and Carroll County Commissioner Robert Wirkner.
Those attending the session can move around Public Square to six prayer stations, led by local pastors. Prayers will be for the nation, county, village and youth. The sessions end at 1 p.m.
A special National Day of Prayer program, featuring readings and music, will be held at the Carroll Golden Age Retreat (located on Kensington Rd.) following the noon observance.
