ODOT seeking comments on proposed Bergholz bridge project

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is seeking comments on a proposed bridge replacement project (PID 96440) on State Route 164 in the village of Bergholz.

The project will replace an existing two-span bridge over Yellow Creek with a new, single span structure. In addition, SR 164 will be realigned to improve the deficient curve in the roadway.

The project will require work within a designated FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area, Zone A.

Traffic will be maintained during the construction, anticipated for the summer of 2017.

ODOT is seeking comments from the public regarding the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Potential environmental impacts include cultural and ecological resources, potential hazardous materials, and the general location of the project.

Written comments concerning the project may be mailed to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, Attention:  Thomas E. Stratton, 2201 Reiser Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. ODOT District 11 can also be contacted by telephone at 330-339-6633. All comments must be submitted by February 5, 2016.
