Patricia Ann Wuerl, 70, of Carrollton passed away Friday evening, Aug. 14, 2015, suddenly and peacefully near long time friend Tom Clark, and her beloved pets, Tara, Syanne, and Emma puppy.

She is survived by her parents, William Preston Bentley and Dorothy Theresa Bendgen; daughter, Mary Catherine Asbury of Lincolnton, NC; and husband, Kevin Asbury, of West Virginia; son, Charles Edward Smyers Jr. of Akron; sister, Carla Miller of Denver; brother, Ronald Dawson of Port Hueneme, CA; niece and nephew, Jennifer Miller Barnett and Jeffery Miller of Denver; grandchildren, Alyssa S. Clark and Travis C. Clark of Carrollton, and Catherine Ann Asbury of West Virginia; great-niece and nephew, Elena Barnett and Fletcher Barnett of Denver; and good friends, Sonja Clark of Tallmadge, Penny Frame of Scio, and Daniel Furr of Lincolnton, NC.

Patty, in her unlimited talents, became an ordained minister, helped people in the medical profession as a LPN. Known by nicknames “Pete” and “Paboo,” Patty enjoyed painting portraits of her family members, playing the piano, cards, reading, gardening, and the study of higher spirituality.

As she would often say, “we’re all gods acting like god damn fools.” We’ll miss you, Patty.
