Richard Lee Wood, 73, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, in The Arbors of Minerva.
He retired from U. S. Army after serving 20 years including serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Becky) Wood of Dundalk, MD; a daughter, Kimberly Wood of Canton; three granddaughters, Bethany Wood, Kirsten Wood and Amber Maynor; one grandson, Jonathan Maynor; a brother, James W. (Vicki) Wood of Malvern; four sisters; Sharon (John) Hafner of Carrollton, Shirley Maple of Mineral City, Nancy Montank of Dover and Pauline (Jack) Roudebush of Bergholz; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sheila Morosko, whom he married Nov. 25, 1965, and who passed away July 15, 1988; a brother, Fred W. Wood; and three sisters, Patty Wood, Annabelle Wood and Lenora Thornton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery with military honors provided by the V.F.W., American Legion and D.A.V. Calling hours will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
